Background
Beyond Fitness is a boutique fitness studio on Victoria Island, Lagos. It mixes serious training with local culture for Africa's growing wellness scene, and works with brands like Adidas, La Roche-Posay, and Zap by Paystack.
I built it in Next.js and designed it mobile-first, since that's where most of the traffic comes from. It loads fast, holds its layout across every screen size, and gives Beyond a site that stands next to the best boutique gyms anywhere.
The challenge
Starting from zero
Beyond Fitness had no website at all. Everything had to be built from scratch: how the site is laid out, how it looks, and what order the content goes in.
Matching the energy of the studio
The site had to feel like walking in the door: dark, loud, and premium. A generic fitness template was never going to do that.
Keeping a lot of content clear
Five class types, a few membership tiers, coach profiles, and live events all had to fit on one site without it feeling like too much.
The solution
Visuals that pull you in
Dark backgrounds, full-bleed photos, and type that moves, so it feels like the studio. Every section was made to feel like an event.
A clear structure
After looking at competitors and working out what people actually come for, I mapped the site around five things: learn, explore, book, join, and connect. That set the navigation and every page layout.
Fast first
Built on Next.js, with images that load properly and smooth scroll animations. Quick, without losing the look.
Phones first
Beyond's people book on their phones. Every layout and interaction was designed for mobile first, then scaled up for desktop.

You can look through all five programs, read about the coaches, and book a session without getting lost.
